Timothy J. Sexton, the writer behind “Children of Men,” has been tapped by United Artists to script “Timecrimes,” the story about a detective who travels back in time half an hour to stop a crime. The film is being adapted from Nacho Vigalondo’s Spanish-language noir thriller entitled “Los Chronocrimenes,” which played at Sundance this January.
I’m all about sci-fi noir thrillers. Unfortunately, from the description, the plot sounds similar to that “Deja Vu” movie Denzel Washington did two years ago. It was a flop, but maybe “Children of Men” will be a big enough hook to get people to check it out.
