Oni Press’ “Resurrection” has been optioned by Universal to be adapted into a film. The comic, by Marc Guggenheim and Dave Dumeer, focuses on how a group of survivors following the defeat of an alien invasion set about rebuilding society. The series is currently on its fourth issue. Scott Stuber, currently working on “The Wolf Man,” is producing the movie.
I figured this would happen eventually. For those who have been reading it, “Resurrection” has a really cinematic feel, and a fairly original (for Hollywood) premise. I just hope the producers know where the series is going, because currently the book has a lot of loose ends. By the time they make the movie, though, the comic should be well into its run.
