This is the first I’m hearing about Junot Diaz’s The Brief Wonderful Life of Oscar Wao, but I’m enchanted with it’s existence — or at least with its brief plot summary. I’m always glad when more nerds, even fictional ones, get their due. The book about a nerdobsessed with sci-fi and fantasy who lives in the ghetto has won for fiction in the National Book Critics Circle Awards, and I’m going to order it on Amazon right now.
