The nominees for this year’s Hugo Awards have been anounced. The Hugo Awards serve consistently both as a resource list of what to check out in the genre and a point of controversy (at this point, it seems like almost every SF/F award is a point of controversy) usually about the lack of representation of female authors (last year only one of twenty nominations in the fiction categories went to a woman; this year it’s four). If it’s awards season, someone is doing statistical analysis. The awards will be given out at Denvention 3, the 66th World Science Fiction Convention.
