I’ve just stumbled on the blog for Juno Books, and I’m smitten. No, it doesn’t have anything to do with that movie about the cute, preggers and utterly terrestrial teen. Rather, Juno Books focuses on female-centric fantasy — female heroes and female anti-heroes. Their blog is particularly fun, smart and in possession of some fairly sharp teeth. Their most recent post ranting about the assumptions Harlequin (yes, the romance novel publishers) are making about vampires is just one fine example. An earlier post featuring covers from old novels about girls and their ray-guns is also a thing of beauty.

The blog *is* great. As an occasional angry woman of color, I dug the sci-fi pulp cover of the camped-up, literal angry woman of color (with mohawk).
