Okay, so the much publicized series premiere of Torchwood has finally arrived, and, well, it wasn’t bad. There were definitely some things that were predictable to me- it was certainly no surprise that Barrowman and Marsters kissed and then punched each other. However, I did enjoy Marster’s character, and would love to see him come back again. Jack’s arrival was, as usual a dramatic entrance, however, it would have been nicer to see the team handling things better without needing Jack to appear suddenly and rescue them. And what’s with the Jack-Gwen, Jack-Ianto thing? I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see how that develops, but it was certainly surprising on both counts. The jury’s still out for me on Torchwood, because a lot of my enjoyment was watching Marsters in action. I guess we’ll just have to see how they follow up in the second episode.
