The newest filmed incarnation of Frank Herbert’s Dune has officially signed director Peter Berg of Friday Night Lights and The Kingdom fame. This newest version of Dune is currently scriptless, but the producers do have a list of writers to approach when the WGA strike comes to an end.

Why? Why, if you are a mildly successful film director, would you decide to put a nail in your coffin as huge as Dune??
Maybe I’m a pessimist. Maybe it will be amazing.
But thoughts of an orange haired Sting dance through my head….
