Scifi.com reports that next week, Hogfather, the first live action version of a Discworld novel is set to air. Being originally from England, I was able to catch part one (it’s a two part series) when it aired in the UK last Christmas and this one is both magical and faithful to the book. It’s been a long time in coming, but it’s most certainly worth the wait. It’s got a brilliant cast with actors such as Tony Robinson, Michelle Dockery, Marc Warren and Ian Richardson as the voice of Death, to name just a few. It also has a cameo appearance by the man himself, Terry Pratchett, as the toy maker. I have to say, this Hogfather movie is a great introduction to Discworld. I didn’t start reading the books until after seeing Hogfather. I saw Wyrd Sisters and have very good friends that talk endlessly about it, but does that truly count? It’s also something fun to almost get you in the mood for the dreaded Christmas shopping madness. Hogfather airs on ION on Sunday November 25th. Happy Hogswatch everybody, Ho, Ho, Ho!
