Del Toro Remakes Champions

Guillermo del Toro has been signed to write and direct a remake of 60’s British sci-fi series, “The Champions.” Toro has helmed such sci-fi/fantasy pics as “Blade II,” “Hellboy” and most recently “Pan’s Labyrinth.” “The Champions” ran for 30 episodes and chronicled the adventures of three secret agents whose plane crashes in the Himalayas, where an advanced civilization gives them super powers.

It’s too early to tell on this one, but Toro has a talent for making pretty engaging pictures, so this one should be interesting. I guess we just have to wait and see how “Hellboy 2” turns out.
