Somebody out there must have heard Dekker’s plea for more robot toys because Nikko Home Electronics is releasing an R2-D2 projector. The this adult toy has an adult price of just over $2000, but it’s lightweight (17.64 lbs), supports DVD, iPod, CD, and has a Millennium Falcon remote. There is also a card reader that supports SD, MMC, MS, Smart Media and USB. My favorite feature is the fact that the projector can pivot up so you can project the screen on the ceiling. The Falcon remote has controls that allow you to move R2 to your whim and the keypad slides neatly inside when you’re not using it. “Mom, I promise I won’t ask for another thing for the next five Christmases if you get me this.”

Ditto, this was a nifty doohickey featured at the digitallife tech convention last weekend. It would indeed be several Christmases worth! I thought the tilt-up projection feature and the “can’t lose” remote the best features.
Nice website.
