Kevin Smith is a man who is both revered and reviled among the ranks of sci-fi fantasy fans, and I can understand the reasons for both. That said, I come out enjoying his work pretty consistently, even when he took all of his blogs and had them printed in the book “Silent Bob Speaks.” Sure, I could have spent a couple hours at my computer and read all that stuff for free, but for ten bucks I had two days of reading material during my lunch breaks which caused me to laugh out loud, evoking stares from baffled restaurant patrons. I consider this a decent value for my money.
So I was pretty pleased when I learned that Kevin Smith is releasing another book of blogs from his Myspace page entitled “My Boring-Ass Life: The Uncomfortably Candid Diary of Kevin Smith.” I’ll probably pick it up. Regardless of how much I either do or don’t enjoy his films, I’ve always regarded Smith as someone who knows how to tell a funny story.
