| How much does Illusion On-Demand cost? |
We're free on all cable providers that carry us! You can enjoy Illusion anytime you want for no additional fees.
|
| Hey! You guys are On Demand, why are there commercials? |
| In order to keep our programming free we need to support the channel with advertising. It’s a popular misconception that all on-demand channels are “premium”, this isn’t the case. We’re just the same as any regular network except you can watch us on your own schedule. |
| Why don't I get Illusion On-Demand on my cable or satellite package? |
We're working hard to be in as many places as we can, but we need your help. If you don't get Illusion call your service provider and tell them you want it! For a complete list of where Illusion is currently available check out our “affiliates” page.
You may require a digital service plan from your local provider. |
| Why does Illusion run fantasy programs along with the sci-fi? |
| We try to program a diverse lineup inside the sci-fi genre and sometimes there’s some cross-over in to fantasy and horror, depending on the program. Obviously, we respect the science fiction genre, that’s why we program shows like Day of the Triffids and Analog’s Science of Fiction. However, sometimes there are crossovers in to other genres that just make sense for us broadcast, like Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere and Munto. Also, sometimes there’s an element of science fiction mixed in with the show that you might not even think of… like how Troma’s Toxic Avenger involves genetic mutation, or how H.P. LoveCraft’s Cthulhu Mythos doesn’t involve “demons” but creatures from other planets which appear so alien to us that we have no comparable descriptions outside of calling them “monsters”. So I suppose Illusion is more of the “speculative fiction” channel… but we draw the line at wrestling, we promise! |
| You guys are running Quartermass! If I write a fan letter for David Tennant and send it to you will he get it? |
Probably not. If you see a show on Illusion and want to express your fandom that’s awesome, but try to find the right place to send letters and gifts. We don’t keep a mailing list of actors, writers, directors or animators and we don’t want you to send something that will never reach its rightful owner. |
| Why doesn’t Illusion carry my favorite show? |
| We really wish we could! Licensing programming is a long and difficult process with no guarantees. Each studio has its own set of rules and sometimes we just can’t come to an agreement, but if you write to us and suggest a show we’ll be sure to look in to it. |
| Are you going to be at my local sci-fi convention? |
| Maybe, maybe not. It depends on several factors. We try to do events at some of the bigger shows, like New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic Con, but there are so many conventions out there that it’s a little hard to keep up. If you think Illusion should do something at your local convention you can call the organizers and ask them to contact us. |
| Can I work for you? |
Maybe. You can help promote Illusion at your local comic shop or pop culture store. Sometimes we post jobs in the New York City area, but these positions are usually filled quickly. |
| I’m involved with a sci-fi / fantasy organization at my college. Can I have some cool swag? |
Sure. Why not. During certain times of the year we produce a limited number of “college packs” that we can give to lucky fans. Just send us a physical letter to:
Illusion Television
ATTN: College Promo Packs
60 E. 42nd Street #449
New York, NY 10165
Make sure to write your return address clearly and we’ll put you down on the list for the next time we have some packages available. These packs are first come first served with a limit of three per college and one per request. If you have a friend that wants one too, they have to write to us separately. |
